This is a site for all of us non-professional artists and crafts-persons. I have been involved in some aspect of this since about age four, and I’m pretty darned old now, which means that I have done a lot of different arts and crafts. I never found one that I stuck with for life, making me a jack of many arts and crafts, master of none. But I do have a lot of information to share with those of you out there who always feel that need to create something beautiful, or compelling, or just pretty, something of your own that didn’t exist until you made it come to life.
I want to concentrate on simple, easy-to-do, and most of all “cost-effective” (which is a euphemism for cheap) arts and crafts, in tune with the current economy! Whether it be for your own satisfaction, to try to make a little money, for gifts, whatever your inspiration may be, I plan to explore my favorite mediums that I have dabbled in over the past years, and many that I haven’t.
I will also do some features on “real” artists and some of the amazing and original things that they do that you may not seen before.
This is a site very much “under construction”. I may include a category called “blog-hell”, which is the only way it can be described, chronicling my trials and tribulations trying to get as far as I have! I still can’t even get this “page” into it’s proper place, which would be the “about the site” section on the sidebar. But I’m working on it! So, please bear with me and my technology-challenged self. Hopefully, the site will improve with time. If it doesn’t look slick and professional yet, I think that’s okay, because I’m an “almost-artist”, a “folk-artist”, and “outsider artist”, one of the many names people assign to those of us with no professional training, who learned what we know by exploring. A computer whiz I’m not.
Thanks for visiting!
